Saturday Snapshot October 12, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Nightly Visits

Since I did the parade of animals last week I almost didn't post these pictures. Then I decided that I took them as a memory for me as well as something to share!  So this is the last post from our August cruise.

Last week you got to see the animals at a distance; this week they are close up.
Even when I have seen many,
half the fun is coming in each night to find a new 'visiting' creation.
Night 1 - I think it is a dog. (I also included our cabin room.)

Night 2:  Bunny

Night 3: Elephant

Night 4: Snake;
Oh - Becky is right. Snakes wouldn't have limbs.
Maybe an Anteater?

Night 5: Piggy

Thanks to all who stop by and visit.
I didn't get to visit yet so I have to make time Saturday mid-day after my Ladie's Book Club meeting.

A big Thank You to Alyce of At Home With Books who has hosted this meme for a number of years. She is taking a summer hiatus at her blog and the new host will be Melissa at West Metro Mommy. Thank you to Melissa for picking up the responsibility.

Saturday Snapshot October 5, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Parade of Animals

As noted last week, the last day, Cruise Day 5, was at day at sea. I mentioned that we went out on deck early and my DH's first few shots were all fuzzy - but below the fuzzy is what he was taking pictures of!

Fogged over:

Becky was partially correct when she said it was the ship pool.
The fun part was the parade of towel animals around the pool deck!

Note the paired swans to the left below. :-)

These were great fun to look at and I was surprised by all the variety!
We of course had the usual offerings in our stateroom each night too. :-)

Thanks to all who stop by and visit. I didn't get to visit until the end of last week. Wonder when I will this week?

Saturday Snapshot September 28, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Day at Sea

Cruise Day 5 was at day at sea. Although it can get crowded because everyone stays on board, we still have a relaxing day.
We were awake pretty early and I got some lovely early morning shots as the sun was rising.

Robert went out to the deck early while I was still dressing.
He got some interesting shots not realizing that the camera had fogged over:

You can guess what this picture is and next week I'll post a clear one. :-)

Thanks to all who stop by and visit. I hope to visit around Saturday morning this week.

Saturday Snapshot September 21, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Nassau

Our Cruise stop on Day 4 was at Nassau. We have been there many times and love to go in town. We visit the rum cake shop to sample the cakes and sometimes buy some special Bahamian Rum.  Then we take a bus to the old part of the harbor where we visit a small restaurant and have yummy conch fritters with the locals. :-)

The day we stopped it was raining and we decided to just sit it out. I know it sounds like we missed all the stops but we really enjoyed a leisurely time on the ship!

This is the view as we came into the Nassau Port.
I liked how these images came out a little eerie looking with the rain clouds. :-)

I was pleased to visit and see other Saturday sharings last week.
Thanks to all who stop by and visit. Hopefully I will get to visit back this week!

Saturday Snapshot September 14, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Half Moon Cay

The stop on Day 3 was a Half Moon Cay.

The ship anchored off its own little island where they off load for a bar-b-que on the beach. They have lots of beaches and sports activities including horseback riding, snorkeling and swimming with sting rays. I swam with sting rays many years ago when my kids were early teens. :-)

The weather was slightly overcast.
These are pictures (taken from our window)
of the tender returning from the island to the ship.

(You can see here that the tender is pretty empty.)

These aren't real exciting but you get a feel for the weather.
We had a relaxing day on the boat with many people gone. :-)

Thanks to all who stop by and visit. Hopefully I will get to visit back this week!

Saturday Snapshot September 7, 2013 Bahamas Cruising - Freeport

I missed Saturday Snapshot last week for a very good reason. We were off on a quick cruise to the Bahamas! We left Monday midday from Port Canaveral and had three stops.  I will post a few pictures from each day for the next several Saturdays. :-)

The first stop on Day2 was Freeport.

It was before breakfast as my DH
watched us dock from our stateroom window.

This was the view from the window:

My DH was fascinated by the loading of the tankers.
He thought the little forklift trucks looked like busy ants.
This is bigger than it looks.
Each of the boxes is actually a trailer box like you might see on a train!

We did walk out and do a little shopping. It was a little cloudy which was fine as it wasn't too hot. I took some photos with my phone but have to ask my daughter to show me how to get them now. :-)

Thanks to all who stop by and visit. Hopefully I will get to visit back this week!
